Why should I use natural products?

Natural products promote overall wellness, balance and stronger immune system, they normally don't cause any allergic reactions or irritations.

Natural products don't harm the environment, so we make our products biodegradable and packaging recyclable.

Can I use SHOO products on my puppy?

Yes all our products are safe to use on puppies as well as full grown dogs.

The smell of the soap and shampoo is light and not as heavily scented compared to other shampoos why this is?

We only use natural pure essential oils (the highest quality) in all our products to create their smell. We do this because it not only makes the products smell good but they have excellent beneficial properties which help with calming, skin conditions and the overall health of your pet.

Most companies that have stronger more highly scented shampoos use a synthetic fragrance – often called parfum, perfume, fragrance, scent or essence of some exotic sounding flower or fruit name. These fragrances are made up of many different ingredients – mostly synthetic compounds derived from petroleum by-products. The complex concoctions that make up a typical fragrance can use anywhere from 10 to 300 chemicals. Manufacturers don’t legally have to list the individual ingredients because the “fragrance” is the ingredient. Many of these ingredients have been linked to hormone disruption, reproductive issues, sperm damage, thyroid disease, allergic skin reactions such as contact dermatitis, headaches, asthma, nausea and many are known carcinogens.

One of the reasons artificial fragrances smell so strong is that they contain alcohol which diffuses the scent. The biggest problem with using alcohol is that it is also a penetration enhancer which allows “nasty” ingredients to permeate the subcutaneous dermal (skin) layers. Not desirable when some of the synthetic ingredients are potentially carcinogenic.

How often should I bath my dog?

Depending how active a dog is and how much time he or she spends outdoors, the bathing schedule should vary between once a week to once every month. To keep dogs clean and healthy between baths, we recommend to use pet odour between baths to keep them fresh as well as cleaning their paws so they don't spread germs from outside.

How often should i apply balms?

The more often you are able to apply SHOO Balms to your dog's paws or snout, the better. We recommend applying at least 2-3 times per day - especially before bedtime when bodies are healing and regenerating.

Once your dog's irritated areas are healthy, you can reduce the frequency of applications and still maintain soft, smooth, healthy paws.

What do i do if my dog resists applying the nose balm to his nose?

Many dogs do not want their noses messed with because those tissues are highly sensitive - touching IS painful even if they don't show it (Dogs are stoic by nature). Dogs also have many nerve endings in their noses. Imagine chapped lips - ouch!

There are several ways of accomplishing this (depending on your dog). What we hear the most from our customers is to make sure your dog associates the application of Snout Soother as a "reward" - not as a negative or confining situation.

Holding down or confining may not be the best option, either, as most dogs will resist or fear constraint. If you coax your dog with a FIRM, but gentle, approach (and sometimes treats), you should get a better response.

You might try holding a food reward in your hand and let your dog get a sniff of it. As he is licking or nibbling the treat, try to carefully swipe a bit of Snout Soother on your dog's nose. If your dog begins to associate yummy treats with getting something put on his nose, you should have a better response.
